What's in your hand right now is a CDR EP edition from a noise-pop band called Vanishing Muffins, based in Jakarta. Their EP, "Central," was previously released by Shore Dive Recs in England. A remarkable EP like this, from a genuine band, deserves to be treated with a DIY ethos: burning, sticker-ing, photocopying, especially since I lack the funds to produce many copies, and I'm opposed to overproduction.
In this EP, Vanishing Muffins delve into the struggles of living paycheck to paycheck, facing unemployment, and dealing with heartbreak. They've poured their hearts into this EP, and the authenticity shines through in every song. They stay true to themselves even in the face of unexpected challenges. "Be romantic and be bad at it" is the phrase they live by.
