about
Working every day, leaving in the morning returning at night, and spending time with his child during leisure moments isn't enough for this man who lives in Depok. To escape from his busyness, he writes indiepop songs with lyrics about the joy of children enjoying their daily lives by playing with friends. Influenced by the bands from Labrador Records' early releases, such as Little Big Adventure, Chasing Dorothea, Airliner or even starlet, the songs he records actually sound like childish and very playful pop.
The song "Rainy Day Gigglefest" conveys a message of embracing joy and overcoming fears in the midst of rainy or stormy situations. The imagery is whimsical and imaginative, encouraging us to dance in the rain, find joy in puddles, and face fears with the support of friends. The mention of squids, monsters, and cats adds a playful touch, suggesting that fears can be dispelled through a positive perspective. The lyrics encourage a mindset of optimism, love, and laughter as powerful tools to conquer fear and nurture dreams.
lyrics
Rainy Day Gigglefest
the clouds meet the sky,
My little one dancing freely as the rain falls by.
Don't be afraid of the rain, let it wash away the fears,
Splash in puddles of joy, and let those happy tears.
When thunder roars, and the sky flashes bright,
Hold your friends close, you’ll be alright
Don't be afraid of the rain,
Or the thunder's refrain.
Squids may wiggle, monsters might play,
But in our hearts, fear can't stay.
Cats purring softly, in the moonlight glow,
Don't be afraid, let your dreams grow
The squids gently sway,
Hold their ink and draw your dreams every day.
Monsters in the closet, just friends in disguise,
Turn on the light, see the truth in their eyes.
When the night is dark, and the shadows appear,
Remember, love and laughter conquer fear.
Don't be afraid of the rain,
Or the thunder's refrain.
Squids may wiggle, monsters might play,
But in our hearts, fear can't stay.
Cats purring softly, in the moonlight glow,
Don't be afraid, let your dreams grow

Me & Magdalena has always been a favourite RPP cover for me. Evocative of a dusty road movie, with distant state lines, sunsets, canyons and oceans; a glorious song about love, memories, loss, regrets and the tantalising, unknown possibilities and pleasures of the future. And I love the LDR cover, too! A sensual, fabulous collection of covers. Thanks, Glenn. broseleyimp

I desperately needed something intoxicating and cathartic and this is just what the doctor ordered. Catchy melodies slathered deep in fuzz. Ralph Gonzalez
